Absolutely loved it, no
horror film has ever actually scared me because I know the in and outs of how most of them are based but this
film started like I would not have expected, it
works based
on the primal fears of people and it's so simple but Wan
works with that and terrifies you.

Prior to Burke and Hare, Landis had contributed a couple of segments to Masters of
Horror and
worked on some other television, but hadn't actually directed a
film since 1998, so it's great to hear he has something new in the
works already (even if he doesn't explicitly say he'll be behind the camera).
The greatest surprise is that this
horror film works deeply as both a scary tale and a coming of age journey for characters
on the cusp of adulthood.
Filmmaker Jennifer Kent was honored with the Breakthrough Artist award for her
work on the
horror film «The Babadook,» which also won four awards at Austin's Fantastic Fest earlier this year.

Jordan Peele's «Get Out» is, again, a
work of savvy craft that pulls an unsuspecting (white) viewer into a Sunken Place that other moviegoers know all too well; the movie
works as a
horror film, as a goof
on horror films, as a
working street - map of African - American anxieties, and, for a white liberal audience, as an endlessly reflective hall of mirrors that urges a hard, necessary look at oneself.
While most automatically assumed that the new script would be some sort of
horror - comedy, based
on Green and McBride's inclination to aim for laughs in their

film will carry the same frightening tone as the original «Halloween»

The performances are uniformly exceptional, Noonan's verging
on astonishing at points (watch his eyes during the kitchen scene), and the aggregate of the ensemble's
work leads to that ineffable feeling of sadness that infuses the very best
horror films.

work on the average folk who have never seen a
horror film in their life, it won't fool a hardcore fan by a long shot.
For six years Cary Fukunaga
worked on this adaptation of the Stephen King child - killing clown
horror; he's still
on board but Andrés Muschietti, the Argentine
film - maker behind genuinely spooky Mama is directing.

Seeing, or rather hearing, William Friedkin is a rare treat for
horror fans and cinephiles, given that the celebrated director is best known for his
work on behind the camera
on films like The French Connection, which won him an Academy Award for Best Director.
