points.

points can be moved over at a more favorable ratio (1:1) by using Marriott's «
hotel + air» packages - we go into more detail about that program

The benefit
here is that you can use your
points to book a room with any
hotel chain of your choosing, from high - end luxury
hotels to cheap roadside motels, and you'll usually get more value per
point than just one cent.
SPG has the best exchange ratio for Delta SkyMiles ®, but the exchange for Marriott
points can be improved to the same level by utilizing Marriott's «
hotel + air packages», which we talk about
here.
There are many kinds of rewards credit cards, but what we're featuring
here are those that offer rewards
points that can be redeemed for various benefits such as merchandise, gas, cash back, special events, free
hotel accommodations and fine dining.
With that said,
here are our estimates for what miles and
points in major U.S. airline and
hotel programs are worth for travelers willing to be flexible when making a redemption.
The only option
here (and our recommended usage) is to transfer
points to the American Express transfer partners such as airlines and
hotels.
Each
hotel group allows its rewards
points to be transferred to airline miles for almost every partner airline listed
here.
Here are step - by - step instructions on how to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards
points from the Chase Freedom to a card which allows you to transfer them to certain
hotels and airlines!
If you do not qualify for the Radisson Rewards Visa Signature ® Card, you will be considered for the Radisson Rewards Platinum Rewards Visa ® Card which has different terms set forth
here and earns 50,000
points after first purchase, plus an additional one - time spend bonus of 10,000
points after spending at least $ 1,500 in net purchases on the card within the first 90 days of account opening, earns 25,000
points each year upon renewal of the card, earns 6
points per $ 1 spent on net purchases at Radisson Family of

To give the most trivial example of
point density,
here's the amount of money that has to be spent with each
hotel loyalty for a non-elite member using a third - party credit card to earn an award night at a top - tier property in that program, notwithstanding any promotions:
I talk about credit cards a lot
here because aside from flying or staying at a particular
hotel chain regularly for business, the sign - up bonuses they offer are the most powerful way to establish a useful amount of
points in a short amount of time.
Here are some of the best rewards credit cards that I know of, they offer either airline miles, rewards
points or
hotel rewards:
What's helpful
here is that extra
points on
hotels are not limited to the room rate.
Your vacation starts
here, with beach views, cold drinks and plenty of good times, Seaside Inn & Suites will happily
point out the way to Sharky's Beach Bar, located right next to the
hotel.
But, as frequentmiler
points out in his post, there's a good opportunity
here if you were planning to take advantage of the Marriott's Flight and
Hotel Packages after the SPG merger.
Here are my benefits from doing that: 2 free nights as the sign - up bonus (which I used at this
hotel by the way), top - tier Diamond status for hitting $ 40K spend, 120K Hilton
points since each dollar spent earns a minimum of 3
points ($ 40K x 3
points / $ = 120K
points), and another free night on my anniversary for hitting the $ 10K spending threshold.
I'll
point out
here that while many chains may exclude suites from their complimentary upgrades at check - in (Hyatt), it's possible that
hotel management may choose to exceed expectations.
Hilton is the winner
here but if you solely want
hotel points Hyatt and Marriott are the way to go.

I'm not
here to tell people how to value their miles and
points as that can be pretty subjective (as I mentioned earlier), but there are a right ways and wrong ways of considering how much value you're getting out of your miles and
points and basing that value purely on how much an airline or
hotel wishes to charge you is, to my mind, incorrect.
The best way to find out if a loyalty program offers
points for dining is to google the airline or
hotel name and «dining program» — for example,

hotel categories mean little without some context, so

here on TPG, Southwest has closed that loophole and starting January 1, 2017,
points transferred from
hotel partners no longer count for earning the companion pass.
