«Becoming Ugly» is a succinct but comprehensive look at how the show was adapted to American television; thank the television gods that the original approach — a half -
hour -
sitcom — was abandoned in favor
of the one -
hour dramedy - soap it is now.
There's little doubt that Hunt's experiences as a
sitcom actress have played a significant role in her directorial style, as Then She Found Me is rife with the sort
of timing - both in the dialogue and scene transitions - that one generally associates with a half -
hour comedy.
But the movie makes no attempt to stretch itself, challenge its audience, or even function as a movie most
of the time: As a director, MacFarlane gives Ted 2 all the visual panache
of a traditional network
