How CREA and TREB even let the situation happen??

how CREA has dealt with issues (regulars here know my opinions) and it's members over the past decade, now is the time for us to be selfish and good business owners.
I couldn't agree more — every time an issue comes up, CREA huffs and puffs and swears up and down that they are going to vigurously their Realtor consituents, only to cave in at the last minute based on some nonsensical excuse — amazing
how CREA couldn't afford to take on the Competition Bureau but the Toronto Real Estate Board could — CREA has long outlived it's usefullness
BTW Folks have you read the bylaw changes being put forward at the SGM??? Did you see
how CREA cleverly is hiding the changes for it's Goverance Power Play under changes required by the Corporations Act?
Monitoring Members» and Global Affiliates» uses and purchases of CREA products and services so that CREA can better understand its relationship with its Members and Global Affiliates and customize
how CREA communicates with them.

Why don't you update readers on article 9.2.3 from
CREA's bylaws and
how TREBs blatant breach of this bylaw is allowed to on or
how TREB's decision to openly and willingly violate that bylaw may allow the CB a win.
How many TREB members are even aware
CREA and OREA are the natural competitors to TREB??

how the powers - that - be within
CREA, OREA et al can sleep at night knowing full well that they are spending millions spreading lies about the communal capabilities of many (most?)
- the disparity / incompatibility of Quebec law, new
CREA rules and the Competition Bureau's former Blonde Bombshell's crazy ideas about
how Listing Brokers should inter-act with clients as do online travel agents — surely this too affects the remaining Belle Province's Realtors (tm)
With all of the hoopla about ORE,
CREA etc. protecting its MLS, REALTOR and logo rights whereby no salesperson can use a variation on the themes,
how is it that the President can display an altered version of the logo?
I don't understand,
how the current
CREA president would reconcile the client of a part - time agent missing out on an opportunity, due to other employment obligations — especially if said client wasn't aware of the agents part - time status.
It is therefore up to Realtors, and by extension, Realtors» paid representatives, being
CREA, ORE (Ontario) etc. to at least try to educate consumers about
how to choose a Realtor, exactly as you have stated.
CREA apparently doesn't understand agency, in particular dual agency... and merciful heaven (don't even go there)

how maintaining RECOs and
CREAs Code of Ethics that requires silence and restricts the public's ability to become informed of the profession, allows for an ethical business to even have the potential to exist.
In the Open Houses, I think the members are enjoying all the information but what they are really responding to is just having somebody explain, «these are some of the tools that
CREA is offering and this is
how I use them in my business.»
CREA should not be dealing with the customers or telling us
how to handle our data.
Perhaps someone at
CREA should actually go and find out
how long it takes a member of the RCMP to be qualified to make those assessments.
When many of us started in the business, some nearly forty years ago that decision was made for us — by the real estate boards, and stayed that way until buyer agency came on the scene and suddenly almost overnight, each local boards of directors under the ministry guides, and
CREA and OREA (in Ontario) intervention were told they had to stipulate new rules; they were no longer able to dictate
how much would be charged.
I don't even know who my local
CREA rep is, don't know where to find that information, so
how am I even supposed to know what they are doing for us?
Does one
CREA member even know
how few homes your President has sold or
how many non-profit non-real estate associations she has been part of?
Why not take this opportunity to show
how REALTORS HELP by ensuring anyone licensed to use
CREA trademarks is not a convicted sex offender.
How long will the implied consent mentality prevail at
CREA and across the country at local boards?
