He does an excellent job with the visuals and the camera work, but I just can't emphasize enough just
how dull the characters were.

Too muted and pensive to work as a thriller, too withdrawn to be a
character study, and too cold to evoke any sympathy, the film is instead a
dull and alienating exercise in
how to take a strong actor and interesting premise and mostly waste them.
Sadly I think I've gotten to the point where my curiosity about the dome no longer outweighs

how dull «Jurassic Park» would be if the dinosaurs were seen exclusively in the far distance, as the paleontological safari intended, rather than endangering the
characters in close proximity.

how The Butler stands on this term and
how it views its passive and sometimes

If the first film showed us the kind of fun that could be had with this
character by removing everything about him that could make him unique among his superhero peers, Thor: The Dark World shows
how dull the adventures of the guardian of the nine realms of the universe can be when played with sincerity.
You see a page count like that and think of
how it must be a
dull paperweight; the magic in Martin's writing is that each of the
characters are compelling in their own way, and each chapter ends on a suspenseful note.
How I could ever have thought that his haunting, lonely landscapes — usually uninhabited or with just one
character — were remotely
dull is completely beyond me.
