The authors examine a range of issues, including

The
Measures of Effective Teaching (MET) project was designed to find out
how evaluation methods could best be used to tell teachers more about the skills that make them most effective and to help districts identify and develop great teaching.
How are multiple

We will not here get into the many technical problems with
measures of achievement growth — they can be significant — and we surely don't suggest that school ratings and
evaluations should be based entirely on test scores, no matter
how those are sliced and diced.

What it means: The Christie administration is pushing hard to sell the new
measures as a central piece of the new
evaluation system, with public events across the state to explain
how the process will work.
As the focus on teacher
evaluation rises to the state and federal levels, we will need to articulate the full range of teacher practices and student outcomes that we want from our education system — and determine
how we can
measure them.
