How about the proposition that the centre of
gravity of the solar system affects Earth's oceans over and above lunar
effects directly without needing to involve the sun at all?
If the majority of the heat in the water at depth is from pressure, friction and
gravity effects how can the tiny amount of heat from the sun on the surface layers be of any consequence.
I am now trying to find out exactly why all GHGs have no (well, very tiny)
