I'd been putting off moving to a 4 -
hr feeding schedule, because I was worried about having «milk supply» issues.
Since I was planning on going back to work as a teacher, this combination of a 4 -
hr feeding schedule and two long naps early in the day would be GREAT.
Also once I increase the amount of solid do I end up going to a 4
hr feeding schedule as it seems she would be less hungry?
My MIL gave me a Gina Ford baby book, complete with rigid 4
hr feeding schedules, as a present.

He's on a 3
hr schedule (looks about like this altho naps aren't consistently good and he has a difficult time settling after his bedtime
feeding - 7, 10, 1, 4, 7, 10DF).

I wanted to move him to a 3 1/2
hr schedule cause every time it was time to
feed him i would wake him from a deep sleep.

feed to get back to sleep.
He did really well after about the third day and started sleeping past his waketimes (when he was on the 3 - 3.5
hr schedule) and wouldn't take full
feedings.
So i figured he was ready for the 4
hr schedule, which has gone very well, especially with
feedings.
Babies are basically on a sleep and
feed schedule straight through the 24
hr day without little variation to indicate daytime sleep vs nighttime sleep.
I am a breast
feeding mom, who works 20
hrs / wk and is a full time grad student, my husband is too, we work opposite
schedules so our baby is with one of us.
I'm thinking that you may be able to continue cluster
feeding a little after 8 weeks with the intent of transitioning off of it by 3 months so that he can be on a 3 -
hr EASY
schedule.
This is what I did for the second nap, he cried for about 35 minutes on and off, I finally went in, soothed by sit, pat and shh and he went to sleep in about five minutes for 45 minutes, awoke 45 minutes before
scheduled 3
hr feeding and I just
feed him.
oh I meant to say that when we were on the 3
hr schedule he started almost refusing
feeds - so instead of taking 150mls he was only taking 60mls and snacking.

schedule to a 31/2 -4

I've figured out that if I move him to the swing and prop a paci in his mouth he will go back to sleep and stay asleep usually till the next

my question is this - if he goes back to sleep after 20 - 45 minutes then it's time to
feed him 30 minutes after he falls back asleep in order to keep in him on 3
hr schedule.
