yet... when i get sick... i get maybe an hour nap and then i either have to help
with the kids, or
do stuff around the
house or go to work... the worse time i was ever sick that i can remember is when i was 8 months preggo
with my 2nd, i was already feeling like crap my whole pregnancy, i was high risk so i was seeing the dr twice a week (3 hour appts... lame) and i got some kinda bug, well my
hubby still made me help
with the kids, and the needy dog and everything else around the
house... preggo... sick... then he got sick... and was dying lol.
It also freed me up to get a few things
done around the
house before I finally sat down to spend time
with my
hubby after she went to sleep.
I'm always having to think to plan the running of the household (
hubby, 3 kids, an in - law in the granny flat, 2 adult stepkids not living
with us but
with their own problems), appointments for a 2yo
with gross motor delays, sometimes
doing stressful paid work for extra dosh, time poor, difficulty recovering from 6 years of sleep deprivation, poor social life, dissatisfaction
with cluttered
house but no time for non-essentials, the list could go on.
With the time change and the day getting darker earlier it is SO hard to get any photos done with my hubby (the photographer) as his sleep schedule and new job don't allow a lot of daylight time so we have to stay fairly near the house to get any decent sh

We had no sugar in the
house - m y husband told me not to bother
with the recipe — I said screw that I want cookies — I used organic raw honey and the cookies came out BOMB!!!! Even
hubby had like 4 of them — which is a big deal because my healthy treats don't always please his palate.

It starts in our
house with me asking
hubby to go up the loft for the tree and decorations, usually about September to give him plenty of time to say he'll
do it at the weekend and then never
do it.
We bought our first home 3 years ago and I am still trying to decide what to
do with the living room, need to redo the bathroom and the
hubby wants to
do wood on the wall in his office much like you just
did in your half bath... I love all your ideas and for more inspiration I am excited about the book I just bought — Young
House Love!
& no I don't have anything taller than a 2 step stool in my
house... no
hubby with ladders either.
Before we bought the
house, I must admit,
hubby and I spent many of hours in Home Depot dreaming about and planning out what we will one day
do with this space.
I am a bit impatient
with getting projects around the
house finished, but
hubby doesn't share that quality so we always seem to take the slow road to finish projects especially the ones that involve
hubby which is most of them!
Hi KariAnne, Our 1892 fixer upper
house didn't really have a laundry room when we bought it, but my
hubby said he could make his 8x8 «office» space
with all his work clothes, the washer and dryer, a file cabinet and the dog supplies... work... Bad idea!
A BIG thanks goes to my
hubby for being my advisor on some of the projects (I didn't want to burn the
house down
with a bad wiring job and I didn't want a leaky sink) but all the projects in this renovation were
done all by myself.
