Over the past few years the priorities of the gaming industry have shifted somewhat — while unique IPs and
huge franchises remain key for developers and publishers, annual releases have lost favor.

Although I am sometimes cynical of essentially sub-contracting a
franchise out to a different developer, as a
huge fan of some of Visceral's earlier work (Dead Space 1 & 2
remain two of my favorite games of the previous consoles and I really liked Dante's Inferno), I have trust this wont be a cowboy operation.
How WWE 2K18 will turn out
remains to be seen, but if the incredibly long history of WWE games — which extend much further back than the 17 - year history of their current best - selling
franchise — is anything to go by, it could be either be a
huge hit or a terrible failure, so let's hope it's the former rather than latter.
