In the beginning of April we were dying to add some more plants to our yard
so we started with adding some pink
hydrangeas under our large front window.
I also left mine out all year long (it's
so pretty with pine and dried
hydrangea in the winter) which is probably the reason it started to rust out already.

Funny story: I was actually planning to carry pink garden roses but the bouquet didn't turn out the way we'd envisioned

hydrangea centerpiece from our welcome party the night before and I carried that down the aisle instead!

I think through the details of the real flower and how I might build the structure, or how would this paper need to curl to replicate this petal...
So in noodling the
hydrangea, I came up with the idea of this floral wire structure of 30 strands each to make the bloom.
I wanted to keep this space simple
so we added natural touches like fresh garden roses with
hydrangeas and a Texas sage tree we found at Home Depot.

So jealous this time of year when I see everyone's beautiful
hydrangeas.
Julie at Little Farmstead shared how she added lovely
Hydrangea blossom arrangements and will allow them to dry — I love flowers in rooms —
so romantic!
I am not a gardener,
so can't explain how these blooms came off the same
hydrangea bush as the bright pink ones above.
I love fresh flowers (especially
hydrangeas and peonies), but my son is
so allergic to pollen that I have to limit the amount of fresh flowers I bring into the house.
These pink faux
hydrangeas (similar) are my favorite and are
so realistic!!
This metal basket is one that I used on a tablescape last Easter,
so I decided to fill it with leftover
hydrangeas and some eucalyptus.
Unlike the rose, lily and iris, the
hydrangea is rarely painted or photographed,
so seeing it here is an entirely fresh experience.
