hydropower dams certainly can provide a lot of power and are a renewable resource — assuming the water source doesn't decline, an real concern with climate change but something beyond the scope of this piece.
Hydropower dams provide power to the Pacific Northwest, but in some cases, that benefit is outweighed by the damage the
dams do to rivers.
