muscle, your resting metabolic rate drops, which means you'll burn less calories when you're not in the gym,
i.e. during the
bigger part of the day.

biggest thing I like is branched - chain amino acids because the body will allow those amino acids to pinch - hit instead of breaking down your
muscle and getting more catabolic,
i.e. breaking down faster.
If you can't break down protein or you're stressed and you're breaking down your structural protein,
i.e. muscle, that can cause a
big problem, because the more catabolic you are, the more you're taking from your
muscle, the more you're taking from your brain neurotransmitters because those are all made from protein.
Your body type and
muscle fibers (
i.e. genetics) will determine whether your legs will get significantly
bigger from running.
But it does suggest that if you're trying to build
muscle, taking in a
big dose (
i.e. 25 grams) of protein as soon as possible is preferable to snacking over the course of a few hours.
When the
muscles are repaired, they are
bigger and stronger (
i.e. this is what makes your
muscles look
bigger).
