iPlayer app has seen almost a million downloads (941,000 to be precise) on tablet devices from Dec 21 til the end of the year, surpassing the traditional
desktops and laptops for the first time ever.
Citing just how popular its
iPlayer has been among tablet users, BBC further stated its popular web service was being viewed by over 3 million tablet users daily post 26 December, ahead of
desktop and laptops viewership.
The app is available from the BlackBerry App World and has the same regular
iPlayer streamed content as the
desktop version, with access to the past seven days Beeb content in addition to other shows and radio programmes.
We had no problem going to the BBC
iPlayer website and loading up content as though we were on a
desktop PC.
