The Big Spring Independent School District, an eight - campus district in a town of about 28,000 people in west Texas, is recruiting for its first year of implementation in the 2015 — 16 school year, and the TEA is

districts to partner with local business leaders and community organizations to fund this
additional pay.
These revamped data systems could both
identify districts in need of
additional support such as finance and leadership training and superstar
districts with leaders who could share what works among their peers.

identified schools in an LEA don't make sufficient progress to meet state «exit» requirements, Section 1111 (b)(3)(B) broadens state authority to act directly — potentially without LEA approval — to «take
additional improvement actions» to implement «alternative evidence - based State - determined strategies» for improving the
district's comprehensive and targeted improvement schools.
With plenty of feedback from
additional experts, including some at Fordham, the team
identified four early - implementer
districts that appeared worthy of scrutiny: Kenton County (KY), Metro Nashville (TN), Illinois's School

While
additional research is needed on the characteristics of effective principals and how to best
identify «fit,» experts encourage
districts to use data tracking systems to learn more about the characteristics and experiences of successful principals in their own systems.
States and
districts now have a much greater role in determining the best approach to help schools that have been
identified as needing
additional supports or intervention.
The programs have been
identified by enrollments reported in the state student information system and by
additional information reported directly to the Department of Education by local school
districts.
Beginning in the 2018 - 2019 school year, states will use their accountability system to differentiate among schools annually,
