Of those incidents for which the researchers could find no breed attributions (n = 89), Karen Delise of the National Canine Research Council  later located breed attributions in 40; and 37 of these cases
involved dogs identified as other than Rottweiler and pit bull, a result that confirmed the researchers concerns regarding «differential ascertainment» of incidents because of breed bias.
