The objectives of this course are (1) competence in handling the most significant legal issues relevant to the practice of marriage and family therapy, including confidentiality, dangerousness, malpractice and expert testimony; (2) heightened awareness of the requirements for ethical practice, including an understanding of how your own values will impact your work and (3) development of a professional
identity as a family therapist, and an understanding of how to keep that identity current.
