Those areas started to
appear in August,
if I recall correctly, and I can't say for sure
if this is related to a particular
climate change.
As with
climate change, the only pragmatic option is to concentrate efforts to fulfil people's desires and demands in a way that protects natural ecosystems as far as possible — not to try to challenge patterns of consumption per se by insisting that they are unsustainable, even
if this
appears to be the case in the short term.
«Also, we feel that
if we can understand how fish coped with low - oxygen, high CO2, acidic waters in the past, it will give us some insight into how they might cope with man - made
climate change which
appears to be giving rise to such conditions again,» Dr Rummer says.
... Polar amplification explains in part why Greenland Ice Sheet and the West Antarctic Ice Sheet
appear to be highly sensitive to relatively small increases in CO2 concentration and global mean temperature... Polar amplification occurs
if the magnitude of zonally averaged surface temperature
change at high latitudes exceeds the globally averaged temperature
change, in response to
climate forcings and on time scales greater than the annual cycle.
If a particular seasonal anomaly
appears to be related to El Nino, can we conclude that
climate change played no role at all?
Well, OK, but I would point out that CO2 in the past
appears to act as an amplifier for orbitally forced
climate change, so
if anything, we might expect the carbon cycle in the future to amplify our own
climate forcing, rather than counteract it.
The two threads of evidence together — from data and from computer models — suggest that
climate change is affecting El Niño, rather than a natural variation in El Niño causing trends that may
appear as
if they are the result of man - made
climate change.
In the end, it
appears that
climate change is outrunning a ponderous,
if well - meaning, international process.
Yes, it does
appear that «
if we're causing the
climate change, there is nothing we can do about it anyway» is the denialist fall - back position.
For a 60 - year cycle,
if the forcing
appeared very quickly, effectively as a step
change, this sudden appearance would give the
climate all of the 30 - year half - cycle of BNO (R) to react, 30 - years to create the 0.31 °C
change in temperature.
If so, the about - turn from Romney, one of the minority of Republicans in the race to have something sensible to say about
climate change,
appears to mark the final rending of political consensus over
climate change.
We all know what the consequences are
if the campaign against
climate change is shown to be the misinformation it
appears to be.

Gary —
If you view the Richard Alley videos (see my several comments above), it
appears that they are investing considerable money and effort into protection against potential adverse
climate change impacts, and that this has become a priority item in the QDR for the first time.
Many have asserted that
climate change is an ethical problem, but few
appear to understand what practical difference it makes
if climate change is seen as an ethical problem.
If it is better to mitigate GHG emissions rather than adapt to rapid
climate change (which certainly
appears to be the case), then we need effective proposals that don't offend these values.
If they are persuadable and persuaded by evidence that their opinions are unsupported by the available evidence and / or are capable of critically examining evidence that
appears to support their opinion and find fault with it, that tells me far more about someone than the place he or she starts out / happens to currently stand in terms of «accepting» anthropogenic
climate change.
So, my point — which should have been obvious given what I actually wrote — is that when people talk about the
climate always
changing when discussing AGW, it
appears as
if they are suggesting that man made
climate change is simply part of some kind of cycle.
If they are truly committed to social justice, these critics ought to voice support for research on those technologies that
appear uniquely suited to assist those who are most vulnerable to
climate change.
We have a small, tightly knit and perhaps even insular community that everybody is relying on for accurate information on how the Earth's
climate is
changing over time, and what influence human activity is having on it, yet there
appears to be little of self - auditing activity in that field, but rather,
if anything, more of a wagon - circling going on...
Given that the majority view here on WUWT
appears to be that the scientific consensus is simply wrong (or non-existent)-- as opposed to mendacious — I should have said ``...
if anthropogenic
climate change is a false alarm you — and your whole team — will without doubt deserve Nobel Prizes»
The logic
appears to be that
if it is, once and for all, comprehensively proven that humans had influenced a
change in the
climate, the rest of the argument — that we put earth science at the heart of our political process — follows from it.
Something
appears to be happening to the crust of the earth, and
if the number of volcano eruptions continues to rise, we could be in store for absolutely catastrophic
changes to our
climate.
Internal memorandums circulated in the Alaskan division of the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service
appear to require government biologists or other employees traveling in countries around the Arctic not to discuss
climate change, polar bears or sea ice
if they are not designated to do so.
Even
if Trump himself were gone tomorrow, the nation still faces simmering crises (falling energy return on investment, increasing economic inequality, over-reliance on debt,
climate change) that
appear to be leading toward collapse of government and the economy; meanwhile, as a result of political polarization, social fragmentation, plain old corruption (see NRA), and truth decay we are losing whatever ability we ever had to address those crises.
So it truly
appears to me that we are, indeed, left with the options you have listed plus, of course, adaptation to any
climate changes Nature throws at us,
if and when it becomes evident that these
changes could occur.
,, in that case
Climate Change or whatever it is known as today or displaces it
appears on the scene the vast mass of the human herd will quite happily abandon its previously held position on the subject and adopt the new meme
if the leadership decrees so and has the confidence of the mass of the human herd.
A Lacis, what
if «
climate change»
appears to be just mainly a multi-decadal natural fluctuation?
The
change appears to be driven largely by feedback - enhanced global
climate warming, and there seem to be few,
if any, processes or feedbacks within the Arctic system that are capable of altering the trajectory toward this «super interglacial» state.»
Or else such letters and opinions will be passed over and dismissed, especially
if a bigger proportion of letters
appear to be in support of
climate change denial.
As I speculated above regarding
climate change, it
appears that solicitors fear
if they act with regard to the April 2013
changes this will involve an immediate
change for the worse to their present standard of living and there is a view that life is already hard enough without making further sacrifices?
