Confession: I'm stuck
in the past; still wanting to cling to the old way of getting published (query letters to magazine editors,
book proposals to publishing houses, etc.) But I know the train has left the station and
if I don't get with it pretty soon, I'll never get anywhere as a writer.

Even
if you are an indie author and may never have written a synopsis or included one
in a
proposal to an editor or agent, it can be a good exercise to understand the essence of your
book.
