It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer
Reid, who was quoted in the Daily Mail, said: «We have good forward players like Ross Barkley and Adam Lallana to come back but at the other end, when Phil Jones lost the ball at 0 - 0, if we were against top quality opposition, we would have been 1 - 0 down.

Hahaha that's very true.At times you get the feeling that even we don't know what we want. However, the strikers Arsenal should be targetting are: Lukaku, Aubameyang, Belotti and Chiharito if everything fails. All these players would improve us massively in terms of goalscoring and to me they are all worth their prices.I also feel Arsene Wenger doesn't know what he wants that's why he ends up panic buying as usual.I wouldn't be angry at all if he signs only one player and that is a world class striker. We have quality in the other positions but the players just lack form.As for the CF role we have no quality.Wenger should wake up for once. This is his chanceto pounce for Aubameyang.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
If we end the window without signing at least one quality CB and at least one (preferably 2) quality central midfielders then we will be screwed.
IF, and that is a big IF, Wenger starts him next season, alongside Kos and allow them form an understanding I will wager my mortgage he will be one of the best in the league by the end of the season barring any bad injury... dude has all the qualities needed to succeed, all he needs now is the manager to trust him and hive him games
similar league position we will be at the end of the season if Wenger doesn't buy proven quality.....
And wins win you the PL Title Our defense including goalkeeper have been excellent and they have been giving us chances of winning but we end up losing or drawing many times because our goal scorers have been misfiring In my opinion, our strikers have been letting down the great work of Cech, bellerin, koscielny, Mert, Moneal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramey, and especially our Assist leader Ozil Mahrez and Vardy in particular have been dynamite this season for Leicester So far in terms of our Offense only Ozil, and Cazorla have been been of the same quality but they aren't goal scorers per se If Welbeck, Alexis, Walcott and Giroud can start scoring, then things can change Hopefully, they can start tomorrow COYG
Lets be realistic this seasson, if wenger doesent buy at least one top quality player we we end up 4th again, Im tired of wenger selling fog and making profits.
If there are signs that Kos is reaching the end of his top - level career due to physical issues, then the situation needs to be managed, and he should be phased - out with a top - quality replacement.
Schneiderlin would Be a perfect option big stron, good technically and already proven, he would be my first choice, I would also consider stones as a CB he's learning but will end up quality, but here is the problem, Schniderlin would cost 25 - 27 IF they sell him, and Wenger won't pay that for him, he would prefer to sing a possible youngster who may make it, and he won't pay for stones either, can you imagine if and I say if Chelsea wanted them, it would not be a problem, simple agree a fee and get them nIF they sell him, and Wenger won't pay that for him, he would prefer to sing a possible youngster who may make it, and he won't pay for stones either, can you imagine if and I say if Chelsea wanted them, it would not be a problem, simple agree a fee and get them nif and I say if Chelsea wanted them, it would not be a problem, simple agree a fee and get them nif Chelsea wanted them, it would not be a problem, simple agree a fee and get them now
as wih just about every season for last 10 years we have a team that is a couple of real quality players short of challenging on three fronts for top honours... so if wenger is willing to get rid of mert flamini arteta diaby and walcott (and possibly gibbs who is begining to really disappoint but perhaps worth another season) and bring in three quality players cb dm and attacker i will change my mind and give him a chance till end of contract... if its another round of bargain basement players with potential and talk of getting in to cl as like a trophy... then yes he needs to go
The ability of Arsene Wenger to attract the top quality players to Arsenal and to keep the ones we already have at the club despite the fact that the Gunners do not or can not match the really crazy transfer fees and wages paid by the likes of Manchester United and Man City will be a lot stronger if the current Arsenal squad can keep up the recent run of form and results and bring the Premier League trophy back to north London at the end of this season.
we are a football club and job of manager is to win shit and use the resources at his disposal to that end and we obviously have a lot... and the sad truth is most fans have not been hankering after wholesale changes just that if we sell quality players we should replace with equal or better and we need 3 quality players now to fill gaps that have been created by wenger by selling some of our best players
I do not mind if we make 1 or 2 signings in the end period of the transfer market, sometimes it just takes time to get the quality in, if Monaco want to replace Lemar before selling him then what should we do?
Another thing is... while the focus this transfer window is on improving the quality of the first 11 (Ivan and Arsene has preaching this since the end of last season), it would not hurt us to improve a bit on the quality of the bench if we can and if we have the resources to do so.
It will backfire if we don't win the EPL.I don't think this decision is as easy as it seems.I wouldn't want to keep players who have their hearts far away from the club.We should sell him abroad and get another top quality winger before it's too late. There's no positive in losing him for free.It would see wise and brave but it will look foolish and cowardly if we end up failing.I hope those who are asking us to keep him won't blame Wenger when he leaves for free.We live in a world full of wicked things you know.
Any DM is Artetas replacement not Flaminis as i believe Wenger will offer him a one year extension at the end of the season if he keeps this form up and his good qualities battling keeping the opposition out... does nt has to be flashy!
If Wenger knows it is the end then maybe he will have extra fight in him, his last chance at getting the UCL... and at least the last chance will be with some quality which he hasn't had since TH14 and Co..
We Arsenal fans overrate their player's a lot.No wonder when our players leave to another club eventually their quality always declines even if they're world class.Take a look at all the top players who have left Arsenal and look at their careers.Things start well and end badly. It is unfair to say Sanchez is irreplaceable because none of you can know until you give the chance to another player and no one knew he would have this impact. This should tell you that until you try you can't know.I hate it when we allow players to treat us like this. Why not sell him abroad and get a top winger to replace him instead of allowing him to go for free? How do you know we will or won't win the league with him or if another top winger comes in.We might really really regret this season if the future of some key players are not sorted out.We overrate our players a lot its a joke.
