Apparently headliner issues,
ignition coil problems and in my prior vehicle a heat shield issue which became a huge issue for me over time, are not exclusive to just me or bad luck.
Not exact matches
If you haven't changed your spark plugs, crumbling valve cover gaskets that leak into the spark plug wells were a common
problem on the 05 - 06 VQ35DE REV - UP engines, so it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to at least pull the
ignition coils and check them for oil.
For those that encounter a similar situation, replacing the spark plug got the lawn mower running, but it now only starts when cold, which is (apparently) usually a
problem with the
ignition coil.
Apparently the initial
problem was with the
ignition coils and that has been causing the
problems with the catalytic converter.
Orange sparks could mean
ignition problem in the
coil, a bad ground or too much resistance.
If your car has a hesitation or misfiring and the
problem is diagnosed as a bad
ignition coil, it's recommended to replace all the spark plugs along with the
coil.
Spark related
problems generally will result from things like
ignition coils, crankshaft position sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires or
ignition modules not working properly.
A misfire under load is typically caused by a
problem in the secondary
ignition system (i.e. plugs, wires,
coil pack).
Common
problems include various transmission issues, leaking radiators in the 2006 model, electrical
problems, faulty
ignition switch, bad wheel bearings, bad
ignition coils, throttle body and emission control system faults.
In cases like this, to prevent future
problems, your mechanic may recommend to replace all three rear
ignition coils.
Timely spark plug replacement will help avoid more serious
problems like failed
ignition coils.
Other common
problems include varietuy of coolant and oil leaks, Check Engine light, failing
ignition coils and injectors.
Nissan Maxima
problems: Common
problems include a faulty alternator, noisy timing chain, oil and coolant leaks and the «service engine soon» (emission control related) issues like bad camshaft position sensor (CMP) or crankshaft position sensor (CKP), dirty air flow sensor, faulty
ignition coils, catalytic converter, EVAP system issues.
