The use of the spark plug means compression ignition can be timed, and means with simple timing adjustments and by injecting a leaner or richer mixture, the transition between spark and
compression ignition cycles can be constantly varied.
For some codes, the light will re-set (turn off) by itself, although it might re-set only after a certain number
of ignition cycles.
While the storage of this code also leads to the illumination of the Check Engine Light, some vehicle makes and models require
multiple ignition cycle with such a failure taking place before the Check Engine Light illuminates.
Under the hood is a new 3.5 - liter V - 6 engine that is able to seamlessly transition between Atkinson and
Otto ignition cycles.
To activate the system after
an ignition cycle, simply press the hold button located above the EPB button while you're stopped with the brake pedal depressed.
Locking the car and restarting
the ignition cycle did seem to kick the door back into action but the motor remained on an intermittent go - slow.
If the system detects that a rear door was opened / closed prior to a trip, but then was not re-opened again after the trip was completed, given the vehicle was put in park and
the ignition cycled off, the system responds with a series of notifications, starting with a display in the instrument panel and progressing to subtle but distinctive chirps of the horn.
