of the wide variety
of dusty discs being found
around young
stars.
The spectacular discs that ALMA has
imaged around much younger
stars, such as HL Tauri, contain much more material that is in the process
of forming planets.
How realistic are
images of planets
around other
stars — and should they be?
Four
images of the same supernova flashed in the constellation Leo as its light bent
around a galaxy sitting about 6 billion light - years away between Hubble and the exploding
star, researchers report in the March 6 Science.
One week we contemplated
images of newly formed
star clusters; another week we examined beautiful spectra
of ice grains swirling
around an infant
star.
Two rival teams
of astronomers are racing to capture unprecedented
images of giant planets
around other
