When I started it up for the first time, I had no
idea that this seemingly simple Bomberman - like game would have such well
implemented depth and addicting
gameplay to keep me coming back for more.
However it is a solid game, with satisfactory
gameplay mechanics, some consistently
implemented fresh
ideas and interesting storyline which ends with a cliffhanger that will remain unresolved.
Therefore, you've got two cases for games that fail: either the developer's
idea about what was fun wasn't really all that interesting to begin with (a «mis - intuition»), or the
idea was interesting, but the
gameplay system didn't do a good job
implementing and presenting it.
I love the
idea of the helpless protagonist trying to survive against impossible odds, and the game
implements this concept into the
gameplay successfully for the most part.
With so many characters to choose from, Mori is tossing around the
idea of
implementing «tag team»
gameplay for the next BlazBlue.
Call of Duty WW2 is trying very hard to move away from the
idea of the player being a single super solider that can take down the entire Axis force on their own and as a result some big
gameplay changes are being
implemented.
It's
gameplay idea is intuitive but is occasionally bogged down by poorly
implemented puzzles.
And be sure, that this is only the beginning of many unique
gameplay solutions and original
ideas implemented in the game.
