When we first visited
schools in spring 2016 for this project — a multi-year, multi-method study of
systemic efforts to support
schools implementing personalized learning — teachers seemed to be taking on an unsustainably heavy lift as they transitioned to personalizing student learning (PL).
In fact, though, the
systemic effects of
school choice policies depend first on the local context in which the policies are
implemented and second on the rules that govern the choices of parents and
schools.
In this session, district administrators will share their experiences
implementing this successful reform that promotes strong
systemic and intentional approaches to personalize the learning experience for high
school students.

school and life, and help shape a safe, democratic and just world.
