Just wanted to give my thoughts on the updates released
in KindleGen 2.5 today.
Kindle is intolerant of certain features in the template; but, I am undeterred, and have learned to overlook the errors produced
in KindleGen.

Kindle Fire 8 (KF8) doesn't allow for interactivity and requires you to build your book
in HTML and then convert it using
KindleGen.
Please note
in order to generate an Amazon Kindle MOBI file, you will need the download and install the
KindleGen tool.
By matching what the
KindleGen would do anyway, it meant those duplicate files didn't need to be included
in the final ebook.

It is strongly recommended that you use
KindleGen on your EPUB file, because this will result
in the most professional - looking eBook.
Just like when working with EpubCheck, you will have to travel back
in time to the days of the command prompt to run
KindleGen, since it has no GUI support.

KindleGen from the Amazon.com website and place the
kindlegen.exe file
in a folder.

The best way to handle these differences is with a special construction
in the CSS file which will be used by
KindleGen to make the needed changes
in the file.
This means the
KindleGen file is 3 times as big as it was
in version 1.

They came through with a small change to the final release version of
KindleGen that allows the use of negative values
in the text - indent CSS property.
