The House
Rabbit Society can assist families
in locating foster
care facilities with adoptable single
rabbits or bonded pairs.
Our volunteers are experts
in rabbit health,
care and behavior, and can probably help you work through almost any problem, if you're willing to try.
With nearly 40
rabbits under our
care (counting the
rabbits in our
care prior to this Oroville rescue), donations are greatly appreciated as is volunteer assisance!
We all are great with dogs and cats, but we also have sitters who specialize
in bird,
rabbit and rodent
care.
Trooper, the nearly hairless
rabbit in photo above, will require veterinary
care for diagnoses of the cause of his hair loss.
SaveABunny offered to take
in eight, and a volunteer from Save Somebunny
Rabbit Rescue transported them up here where they will be
cared for, neutered (for those who are not neutered) and placed into loving homes.
Staunton River Vet Clinic is a veterinary hospital
in Moneta, Virginia, that offers animal
care services and pet provides for dogs, cats,
rabbits, rats, gerbils, and hamsters.
The other three
rabbits were taken

Rabbit Rescue and are
in foster
care.
These
rabbits were put
in to a dilapidated bird aviary and the person tried to
care for them to the best of their ability.
These
rabbits are currently
in foster
care; however, the foster space is a bit full at the moment.
Almost all of the
rabbits mentioned above needed medical
care due to bites, fleas, infections, being out
in the elements, and all of them needed to be spayed and neutered.
In addition to
caring for cats and dogs, we also love providing comprehensive
care to exotic animals, including but not limited to birds,
rabbits, ferrets, pigs and more!
It is our mission to rescue as many of these
rabbits as possible, to provide veterinary
care to them, including spaying and neutering as appropriate, to
care for them and to socialize them while they are
in our
care, and to ultimately findthem a permanent home.
The RSPCA will also be using new scientific studies about how
rabbits are kept
in the UK to develop relevant and up - to - date advice on
rabbit care.
The ASPCA believes that responsible
care includes appropriate amounts of nutritious, species - appropriate food and clean water to support good health; basic veterinary
care including vaccinations and parasite control; necessary grooming and training; exercise; social interaction; diligence
in identifying and eliminating hazardous substances and situations [See Use of Taste - aversive Additives to Antifreeze, and on Dog Chews / Treats]; using good judgment when exposing pets to potentially stressful situations; prompt treatment for illness or injury; and,
in the case of dogs, cats, ferrets and
rabbits, sterilization before puberty.

caring for your
rabbit in your absence, check out Care.com for an experienced pet sitter near you, call your local exotics vet to see if any employees would like to make a little extra cash, contact a local
rabbit rescue group, or check with your local trusted pet store to see if they know of anyone.
Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them
care for their
rabbit as well as offer an outlet to meet and talk with others who share an interest
in pet
rabbits.
If you have other pets
in your house and your
rabbit is diagnosed with Cheyletiella
care should be taken to not spread these parasites to other animals.
If your
rabbit won't take Critical
Care or you do not have access to any, ground up chinchilla pellets mixed with water, or mixed vegetable baby food (without potato or starch
in it) are alternatives.
Domestic
rabbits should be housed indoors, they require specialized veterinary
care and they need unlimited hay
in their diet, should eat a limited amount of an all - green pellet (no puffs, seeds, corn, etc.), and a daily salad of dark leafy greens.
