Because it is an editor, after you've previewed your e-book in a program like Adobe Digital Editions or Nook desktop — or you've checked it on your e-reader, you can open it back up

Create a «preview» file of your epub

I tried exporting from Calibre to epub, then editing the.7 mb file
in Sigil, then converting with Kindle previewer, but it went back up to about 2.2 mb (which KDP will probably bring back down to.7 mb again or less).
When you're done with that, save the whole thing, close the file, and REOPEN

Once everything is showing up as it should (and you've verified by saving and reopening
in Sigil), THEN go upload the Epub file to Pubit!
Part of the problem (maybe the whole problem) is that I was in a hurry so I started with Calibre for conversion and then tweaked
it in Sigil, which results in messy code.

I was able to become functional
in Sigil very quickly.
(Which is why especially for Simon & Schuster I not only DeDRM but have to edit
in Sigil to remove the pesky hard - to - read font defaults and let my reader do its thing!)
In Sigil, go to the top of the chapter heading, press control - enter.

Just save your text file as HTML and edit

We do our print books in InDesign and our E-books in Dreamweaver, but we expected many self - published authors would be able to follow along

The tool will be too foreign, and the output can only be an EPUB file, so working

I'm going to be a snob about this, but really the only two ePub tools that I know of that can produce the cleanest code are Atlantis Word Processor and
Sigil, so if you hear those
in their arsenal, great.

Sigil nor Calibre is yet fully set up for ePub3, though they are both moving
in that direction, and you can edit ePub3 files, even if not all of the features work properly.
