The paper has broad implications for interdisciplinary
science, because it demonstrates a striking pattern
in human behavior that bears on, among others, the disciplines
of psychology, medicine,
sociology, economics, and anthropology.
Also a part
of this was the emergence
of the social
sciences which,
in the application
of the psychology
of knowledge and the
sociology of knowledge to classical modes
of thought, had a significant relativizing impact.
But
in terms

sociology — that completely undermined the traditional understanding
of homosexuality as a chosen and changeable state.

But only when they are used by a society which is governed by the methods and results

sociology and psychology will they become useful
in the fullest manner.
A further result
of this deconstruction was a development
of post-modernism,
in philosophy, human
sciences and
in particular
in sociology.
Yet there is a case to be made that law would benefit greatly from the insights
of sociology, understood
in its broad, European sense as the
science of the basic phenomena and relationships
of society
in all its aspects.
Nevertheless it remains true that, with the exception
of sociology, psychology has been more influenced by naturalistic (and hence deterministic) presuppositions than any other field
in the social
sciences and humanities.
Part
of the problem is that liberals, because they are always looking for ways to recast the faith
in new concepts and categories, easily fall prey to the latest jargons
of science, philosophy, psychology and
sociology.

of personal responsibility for thoughts, attitudes, and conduct has
