Cenotes, I actually ddn't do it because at the time, I wasn't sure
if I was confident enough
in the water there especially for snorkelling.

if you try cave or
cenote diving
in Tulum, it will surely be worth it because only few underground caves are easily accessible.
If you are lucky enough to have the time to spend a couple of extra nights
in Playa del Carmen, use your time snorkelling
in fresh water rock pools (called
Cenotes), strolling along the white sands or for an adventure further afield, take a ferry across to Cozumel, an island famous for its reef diving.
If you're
in that region and want to experience the underwater world, Cozumel has amazing coral formations (I've been planning to write an article about it for months...), which would be very different from the
cenotes.
