Peanut butter is tasty and also an excellent source of protein, which means that it is the perfect ingredient to
put in a protein bar.
While I haven't fully isolated the cause of my C, I am narrowing it down to sugars and possibly some
ingredients in the protein bars and protein drinks that I sometimes consume.
The carbohydrate
mix in protein bars is usually a combination of glycerol (which is not a carbohydrate, but sugar alcohol) and several sugar types.
Not all vanillas are created equally and I do highly recommend that particular variety, but as long as you're using the real stuff, the vanilla flavor will shine
through in the protein bars.
When I first bought it and realized it was essentially «soy nuggets» and that this was an ingredient I often see
listed in protein bars, I was surprised to learn (via googling) that more people weren't using it homemade protein bars.
Milk Protein Isolate has very high amino acid composition that makes it ideal for
use in protein bars and meal replacement powders.
However simple these recipes are, Jessica still managed to create practically every flavor variety you could possibly
want in a protein bar!
And I noticed that he points out in # 4 here that Probars are «100 % vegan,» presumably because that's what he looks
for in a protein bar and rarely finds, and he also mentions using rice milk in his smoothies in # 5.
Various multivitamin supplements contain low doses and in some cases, it can be found in protein bars
On American soil, gusty gastronomers are starting to suck the chirpy critters down in smoothies and
in protein bars, too.
This gluten - free grain will also be popping up
in protein bars, crackers and gluten - free bread.
I haven't tried using a more traditional protein powder, like the Vega protein powder I use
in my protein bars, but I think it would work just fine in the vanilla flavor as long as you measure by weight, not by volume.
I don't like it in shakes because it can be a little gritty, but
in protein bars and frostings, it gets really thick and smooth and fudgy.
I definitely need to try
that in these protein bars now.
As the for the unflavored protein I've ordered — 50/50 rice / pea — I've only had
it in my protein bars, not as a shake, so I can't say!

PHVO is not very often used
in protein bars these days, and you won't find many protein bars that use hydrogenated oils.
So instead, I try to opt for the least amount of processing possible (judged by the number of ingredients and whether I can read them or not, and whether I want
them in my protein bar.)
