I highly recommend
investing in a spiralizer because you'll really get so much use out of it, not just zucchini, and you can get one at around $ 30 or less!
Cant wait to try
beets in my spiralizer... although Im imagining needing a dropcloth and special suit to wear.
But zucchini isn't the only veggie you can
put in your spiralizer: Carrots also make a delicious pasta substitute.
(My carrots weren't big enough to
fit in my spiralizer, so I used a jullienne peeler instead — if you don't have a spiralizer, a tool like this will do in a pinch, or you can slice the carrots and cucumber thinly with a knife.)
You will need: either a hand crank «spiralizer» or the attachment for the Kitchen Aid mixer and you may wish to invest
in a spiralizer cookbook.
Because their flesh is so delicate it is
common in spiralizer recipes not to cook spiralizer zucchini or yellow squash.
(Side note — haven't tried the
bnut in my spiralizer yet because this weekend was crazy busy but I will keep you posted for sure!)
Investing in a spiralizer can be one of the best decisions you make in terms of improving the quality of your veg and carb free meals.
Start by peeling your sweet potatoes, cut the end of the sweet potatoes and place
them in a spiralizer.
If you make a cut longways down your veggie before putting
it in the spiralizer, it will break it up so you don't have foot long spirals!
If you do decide to invest
in a spiralizer, there are lots of other veggies you can make into noodles.
I really want to try, it may be time to invest
in a spiralizer!
