Bob's Red Mill is called
Almond Meal / Flour, and it does NOT have the
skins in it, and so it is blanched.
This recipe requires a little work
in advance because I recommend soaking the

skins popped off and dried
in a 150 degree oven.
I believe the blanching
in this case refers to the removal of the brown outer
skin of the
almonds before they are turned into flour.
Plus I use blanched
almonds to make the butter because of the phytics
in the
skin.
This granola recipe also contains
almonds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds which are also activated and dehydrated
in order to remove the inhibitor substances from their
skins and activate the inherent enzymes within them.

almond meal and blanched
almond meal (without
skins)
I have made
almond milk tons of times and found a huge difference
in taste if you take the
skins off of the
almonds after soaking — takes a lot of time, though, so I make coconut milk instead.
Do you think raw
almonds with the
skins removed could be used
in place of cashews?
In future I think I will use blanched
almonds when I can, but it is also totally fine with a slight
almond -
