In addition to working to save animals locally — either from area shelters or by owner surrender — they help educate people about senior dogs by providing information about senior dog health, nutrition, hospice care, and resources for financial help with veterinary expenses.

Fospice — foster hospice — offers ill and elderly animals an opportunity to live in a home with a caring SAS foster family that is ready to support such animals.

Bosco, a 14 - year - old rat terrier mix, arrived at Tyson's Palace Animal Rescue after his beloved guardian died in hospice care.

Now there are pet hospices, practices specializing in animal cancer and heart conditions, and products like magnetic dog collars to ease arthritis.

As space permits, Hospice Hearts accept pets directly from owners in need and as transfers from shelters and animal control.

This would include considering the hospice option for companion animals that are taken to emergency clinics in sub acute and acute terminal crisis conditions.

For some animals we rely on Hospice Fosters to give them the home and love that they have been in need of for so long.
