I just purchased your book
in audiobook form (which I listen to at work)(and I paid full price, I did, right off a Borders Books shelf); it was only two hours long compared to a novel's 10 - 20, but I figured the topic was worth the price.
For my own part, I have completely lost faith in an author who's writing I really enjoyed
in audiobook form because there were, in my opinion, inexcusable errors in the ebook.
With this release, every Robert McCammon book is now available
in audiobook form from Audible.
Which genres seem to do best
in audiobook form (hint: longer books are often more appealing, because most Audible customers pay for credits that get them a book a month, so the longer, higher priced books seem to be better deals).
It's that same process that made Gaffigan's bestselling 2013 book Dad Is Fat quickly unbearable even

formed a professional society to promote the
audiobook industry.
Towards this, the Association Valentin - Haüy (AVH)
in France has already taken the lead, ensuring those who suffer from varying degrees of visual impairment or are completely blind to still have access to enough reading material

formed in 2003, maintains its status as a CD - based mail service
in which subscribers borrow hard copies of

I wonder what could happen if the Big Five publishers of the Anglo - Saxon world banded together like this to
form an Alliance to defy Amazon, produce their own eReaders, develop their own software, and build up a robust ecosystem, to directly compete with Amazon, whom they so loathe yet can't live without... Off course the devices, software, and ecosystem would have to be absolutely top notch to make people actually consider leaving Amazon (the Big Five might want to capitalise on
AudioBooks by making eReaders that allow you to plug
in a headphone).
Even though the availability of
audiobooks in a digital
form is relatively new when compared to older audio technologies, the origins of
audiobooks dates back as far as the 1930s.
Writing, like music, has gone digital and that digital product is being given away
in the millions to create traction towards a fame of sorts and is being streamed, not quite like Spotify et al, through Kindle Owners Lending Library, but podcasting and YouTube are pushing text more into performance re
audiobooks, book trailers, and even as the music industry has been digitally driven back towards the single as its principal product, so Kindle Shorts, blogging, social media publishing and other developments continue to drive fiction back towards the heyday of shorter
forms.
Before
audiobooks were available digitally, talking books, as they were often referred to, were sold
in physical
form on analog cassette tapes and vinyl records.
Kobo also has their Price Match Guarantee that extends to
audiobooks so you could get lower prices from them
in the
form of a store credit.
