The straining / cheesecloth is really only necessary if you're serving it
in a
bottle (i.e. for
babies) because even though they are tiny, the bits of seed do collect and clog the
nipple.

nipple hole size on your
baby's

in order to establish your milk supply and nursing routine.
Other times, you may have to try a few different
bottles because
baby has a
nipple preference or maybe the one you read so many great reviews about doesn't fit
in that formula maker you purchased, has too many parts or it leaks (the worst!)

baby hates the
nipple that comes with his milk
bottle.

You must sterilize
bottle nipples and pacifiers or anything that your
baby takes
in mouth.
My
baby had to be
in the NICU for 3 days when she was born & I asked them to please feed her with a sirenge but they fed her with a
bottle which has caused her to be
nipple confused & frustrated with me when I try to breastfeed.
For
baby these
bottles come with peristaltic
nipples, which means the air flow is redirected to prevent it being caught up
in the
bottle and making
baby gassy.
If you're planning on pumping and giving your
baby breast milk
in a
bottle, or if you're going to combine breastfeeding and formula feeding, you'll need to buy some
bottles and
nipples.
Older
babies have a tendency to suck at the
nipple with these
bottles as the base it too narrow for them, we'd recommend wide neck
bottles in this case.
