in brachiocephalic breeds (short noses) like the Pug or Boston Terrier.

Dogs with floppy ears, lots of wrinkles, or a «smashed» face (
brachiocephalic dogs like bulldogs) are prone to yeast infections
in their ears and
in the creases on their faces.
Like other Bulldogs the Frenchie is
brachiocephalic, meaning it has a pushed
in snout.
Like all
brachiocephalic dogs (short muzzled), including pugs and bulldogs, they can easily distress
in the heat.

Certain breeds (such as the
brachiocephalic French Bulldog) have travel restrictions,
in addition to heat and temperature requirements that prevent travel during some parts of the year.
The second concern,
brachiocephalic problems can occur
in dogs that have a squashed face appearance such as Shih Tzus and Pugs.
In addition, some breeds with
brachiocephalic skulls seem to have a much greater than 25 percent incidence of orchidism when «supposed» (phenotypically) normal dogs (who are actually carriers) are bred.
