in plastic, wore your baby every minute of every day, co-slept or didn't co-sleep, depending on who you asked, don't allow your children to sleep on commercially produced mattresses, don't use any Johnson's products, etc. etc. etc.?
I have to read through this more closely, but as a WIC recipient for
years now, I have to say here
in the local office they have been hugely encouraging of and supportive of
breastfeeding (the actual counselors, employees, etc).

In closing, I thought I'd mention one thing I think actually harms the
breastfeeding cause: the insistence to women that they are supposed to do it for a
year or more.

But they haven't proven it, and given all the caveats here (the fact the study
in general has been wrong so many times before; the fact that women who choose to
breastfeed for 2
years are quite different
in many ways, not just
breastfeeding) give us good reason to take the findings with a grain of salt.

breastfeeding is beneficial to a baby's health and parents» finances (to the tune of the $ 700 to $ 3000 that a

I know that anecdotes don't = evidence, but for what it is worth, my son who was
