in it, so you'll have to decide if this is the drink for you.
I opened up all my cupboards, thought about what kind of nutrition I wanted to get out of my snack (fiber, vitamins, minerals,
protein, carbs, heathy fats), chopped a dark
chocolate bar
in half, turned on my hob, added some water to a small pot, took out a bowl and threw
in a bunch of seemingly random ingredients, rolled that dough into truffles, dipped them
in what was by then melted
chocolate, stuck the truffles
in the freezer for 8 minutes and BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were ready!
I've convinced myself it's a perfect meal — it's got
protein and fruit, and if you play your cards right and get the kind with
chocolate in it, it's got dessert built right into it.
Dunk

In a bowl, whisk everything together and divide into two silicone muffin cups (get these if you don't have any, they're handy for muffins and

in this recipe doesn't contain any sugar, so I had to add a little bit of maple syrup to counter balance the bitterness of the
chocolate protein powder.

This year, just as the chill
in the air began to make cold smoothies a little undesirable, my favorite plant - based shake and smoothie company, Vega sent me some products to try, one of them being the Vega Sport

So I created my own formula for making
protein bars and ever since, there's been a plethora of
protein bar recipes online that follow my method of 1) mixing a batter, b) moulding the batter into bars, and 3) and coating the bars
in melted
chocolate (here's a video of me making them).
Even though they may be higher
in protein than
chocolate bars, they often still contain the same unhealthy ingredients.
I am relatively new to the
protein powder game, and I ordered this
in chocolate and mix it with unsweetened almond milk to drink.
The moist
chocolate doughnut has Greek yogurt
in the batter, which keeps them light and moist, and gives an extra boost of
protein.
[Because I'm aware the above is slightly wordy and possibly confusing, here's the basic gist = Make a sticky
protein mix by mixing nut - butter +
protein - powder + oats / quinoa - flakes + whatever else you like
in your bars - > coat them
in coconut flour and give them rectangular shapes - > coat them
in melted
chocolate - > fridge them - > boom!]
It does contain a decent amount of
protein (8.6 g) and fibre (5g) but also a lot of sugar,
in the form of rice syrup, dates,
chocolate chips, glucose syrup and barley malt.
Mix 1 ripe banana, 2 eggs, and 1 scoop of
chocolate protein powder (or cocoa powder)
in a blender or food processor.
You can try mixing with more honey, sugar, ice cream,
chocolate powder or whatever, it might then be drinkable, but that would defeat the object of being healthy, which is why I got this
protein in the first place.
When all «
protein - bar shapes» are made and coated
in coconut flour, you coat them with melted dark
chocolate (I just melted half a bar of 85 % Lindt).
I have always eaten a small handful of
chocolate chips by 6 am — either
in yogurt, on
protein pancakes or just alone!
