Apparently, the console is capable of 1080p
when in docking mode and 720p resolution in handheld mode but to most casual players, this won't make a massive difference.
While playing this game I see that not only does it play
great in dock mode but in handheld mode as well.
While certainly not a game changer, the motion controls work well and I found myself using them subconsciously while
playing in docked mode.
It runs at 60 frames - per - second and 1080p
resolution in docked mode, boasts decent performance in handheld mode and includes all of the DLC, patches and additions ever released, bringing together all the content from both the 3DS and Wii versions of the original game.
We need Bayonettta back with native 900P or 1080P resolution with consistent 60
FPS in docked mode for the much more appealing Nintendo Switch.

in docked mode so be careful when playing in handheld mode.
Due to item scale and issues

Whether sitting around curled up with handheld mode, or sat back with a Pro
Controller in docked mode, I was still enjoying getting back to DOOM.
You have a 2D visual style that fits the overall design of the game and the renders look just as nice in handheld mode as they
do in docked mode.
This is slightly different from the 20 percent who would play
in docked mode for more than 80 percent of the time.
I did notice a couple of frame - rate hiccups during some of the climactic opening
encounters in docked mode, but the game feels smooth overall and sticks more consistently to 60 fps than it did on Wii U.
However, I will
say in docked mode, even though the game has been stripped of some noticeable visuals, it seems better optimized than the bloated Xbox One version of the game.
It will also be cross-network compatible with the Xbox One and Steam, however, due to the portability aspect of the Switch, it will support a two player split - screen when played undocked, and 4 - player split -
screen in docked mode.
The controls are equally satisfying in handheld
as in docked mode, and the game ran consistently across both.
Visually, the models and renders built into Asdivine Hearts look nice in handheld mode, though they can have a slight blur
effect in docked mode, mostly with the larger screen making the blur effect more apparent.
For starters, while the E3 demo ran at 1280 x 720
pixels in docked mode, the new demo has bumped that resolution up to 1600 x 900, the same target resolution as Breath of the Wild.
The only reason I'm skeptical of that is Zelda's resolution
in docked mode considering it's not as visually demanding as some games on X1 and PS4 which run at 1080p.
Frame rate is certainly key here and Rocket League does chuff along nicely
whether in docked mode or portable mode.
While the game is colourful, crisp and
smooth in Docked mode, lighting, blooming and textures clash in Portable mode, sometimes presenting a fuzzy appearance.
On Switch, we get the same ballpark performance
level in docked mode, but poor frame - pacing is in place, leading to an occasionally less consistent experience.
However, the Switch version will include touchscreen controls when played in handheld mode, and Joy - Con motion
support in docked mode.
With a UI that's made with touchscreens in mind, this game is a dream to operate in handheld mode,
although in docked mode it doesn't look nearly as good.
It's also locked at 30 fps — I didn't encounter any stutters during the hours I logged — and as far as I can tell,
in docked mode Skyrim runs between 900p and 1080p, whereas in handheld mode it uses the Switch screen's native 720p.
Needless to say, this makes intense firefights a frustrating experience, and the framerate drops still
occur in docked mode too, though feel less severe.
The tablet screen outputs at 720p (HD Ready),
whilst in dock mode on a television the Switch outputs at 1080p (Full HD) and had the Switch models on display in their respective modes.
The one
benefit in docked mode is that you can change the brightness and contrast options on your TV when you're taking a deep dive into a particularly dark cave.
The strange cartoony art style runs in a constant 60 fps
in docked mode with full 1080p, which in portable mode it keeps the fps smooth at 60 but drops the graphical fidelity to a solid 720p.
It can look a tiny bit
blurry in docked mode if you're playing on a huge telly, but because the Switch's screen is a 720p display that means they looks crisp as hell when playing in handheld.
It's clearly not as sharp - which you notice more when played on a
TV in docked mode - but the authentic Doom visuals and action are all there.
When playing in handheld mode the air can be pushed out the vents on the back easily,
in dock mode however, this can cause some problems, the heat can stay in place, and may have more difficulties leaving the console.
I played through KONA on my Nintendo Switch
mostly in docked mode because it is a port from PC and I felt that the game should be played on a big screen.
