This study examines long - term changes
in endothelial cell density in eyes implanted with Artisan (Ophtec BV) iris - fixated phakic intraocular lens.
We considered focusing our studies on the peripheral corneal endothelium and endothelial limbus after reports by Schimmelpfenning [16] and Daus et al. [17] indicated a significant increase
in endothelial cell density of the peripheral corneal endothelium.

Increased
endothelial cell density in the paracentral and peripheral regions of the human cornea.
