Although I have a massive sweet tooth and there are loads of
nutrition in fruit smoothies, it's good to get a variety of different fruit and veg so this is a great option for mixing things up a bit and making sure your diet is balanced.
Just in my fruit smoothie I mix 1 cup fresh spinach, 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, turmeric, prunes, flaxseed meal, 1/4 cup fresh carrots, 5 lge strawberries and 1/2 cup blueberries I mix it with a cup of water.
I was NOT a fan of the fruit seeds, which seems to
happen in all fruit smoothies, but maybe a cheesecloth or coffee filter will help remove the seeds for a better consistancy.
An entire head of greens every
morning in my fruit smoothie, beans almost every day, tons of citrus fruits in my lunch snack plates, tofu, soaked nut pates, whole grains, sprouted grains, and roasted veggies, and of course my daily vitamins, all of the delicious, beautiful food that I loved.
Don't get me wrong —
indulging in fruit smoothies can be a delicious way to treat yourself from time to time, but if you're looking for wellness and nutrition, green smoothies are the way to go!
