What if I do, or do not, believe
in a god or the god?

in god or any god type is nothing less then equal to that of children believing in santa — be good or else!
If they truly don't believe
in God or any god then why bother doing ANYTHING?
It's ironic to me how insulting atheists are, calling people who have faith
in God or a god «ignorant».

Conceding to believers that they can redefine the term «religion» to encompass «atheism», or whatever other ideas they wish to encompass within the word, if that suits their purposes in trying to put anyone who doesn't believe
in their god or any god into the same category as themselves, grants to them the opportunity to dismiss anyone who doesn't believe in their god as holding a religious belief no more valid then their own and to classify you as just another follower of a «false religion» unlike their own, which is the «true» religion.

in a god or gods because there is simply NO empirical evidence to support such a claim — for YOUR version or anyone else's.

@believer, I don't know if you'd call me an atheist, but I don't believe
in a god or gods and, while open to the possibility that some may exist, am highly unlikely ever to believe in the Christian god, mostly because 1) most versions require an anti-scientific concept of «free will» and 2) I think there's abundant evidence of human creation of the Christian god concept.

in a god or gods that's your perogative, claiming a scientific basis for that belief enters one into the area of testability.
Words have maning; you believe

For example an agnostic theist is one who believes

That is pretty cool, but I think it is easy for athiests to forget that a disbelief
in gods or a God is their own personal philosophy, and to be open minded intellectuals, they should also earnestly entertain ideas that conflict with their philosphy.
