In Jesus Christ, in whom God's image emerges
in grace and truth on the level of human existence, as such existence makes full response to God's prior initiating activity, the Word is «enmanned» (enanthropesas).

Undoubtedly, Jesus still loves us all more than either of us could ever fathom but the only way you, me, we're going to be able to live fulfilled
and victorious lives is by accepting God's
truths as they truly are

To me, a theologian, what is interesting is that, though people think of the more anarchical forms of Protestantism as being founded on experience, here at the heart of Catholicism, impelling people to believe that their faith is anchored
in Truth, is an experience — the experience of active
and personal
grace.

I understand that the world is full of broken people who need
grace and truth so making disciples of Jesus is my central calling
in life.
God calls His people not to impose our beliefs
and dictate rights, but to warn others of the price of sin
and the finality of inevitable death (

and to share the joy that we experience from God's

in an excerpt from Romans: The New Man, An Exposition of Chapter 6, Banner of
Truth, 1972] said: There is no better test as to whether a man is really preaching the New Testament gospel of salvation than this, that some people might misunderstand it
and misinterpret it to mean that it really amounts to this, that because you are saved by
grace alone it does not matter at all what you do; you can go on sinning as much as you like because it will redound all the more to the glory of
grace.
When we apply this position to Diem's original criticism of Käsemann, that the latter presented Jesus as only teaching general
truths rather than the kerygma, it becomes clear that Diem has overlooked the crucial point: Käsemann went beyond the view that Jesus taught God's fatherhood
and man's freedom, to the assertion that «God has drawn near man
in grace and requirement,»
and Jesus «brought
and lived the freedom of the children of God».
He claimed Christians should be extreme when it comes to «charity, of virtue, of
grace, of unswerving adherence to goodness
and truth, to the high goal of holiness
in which lies our ultimate happiness».
However Käsemann1 also drew the inference from his own divergent position: «Jesus did not come to proclaim general religious
and moral
truths, but rather to say how things stand with the kingdom that has dawned, namely that God has drawn near man
in grace and requirement.
They're eternal principles rooted
in a common
grace that values liberty based
in humble restraint
and freedom that springs from knowing a single
truth.
But the incarnate Word, God -
in - the - flesh, was full of
grace and truth.
Its close connection to costliness
and truth in the description of Jesus, however, also reminds us that this
grace should not be an excuse for indulgence or presumption.
As we find ourselves
in a new world, we must remember to speak love
and truth, always using words filled with God's
grace.
I would be willing to be patient
and pray that theists will have the supernatural reality of God

and the reality of moral good

Through my brainstorming, I think I found a way to «redeem the press,» that is, to remove some of the negative elements of the publishing industry,
and add
in some elements
and principles of the Kingdom of God, specifically, elements of
truth, generosity,
and grace.
Then
in the juxtaposition of those stories with our stories there leaps the spark of the Spirit, illuminating parallels
and contrasts, to give us the
grace to see our age
in God's light
and God's
truth in our words.
He wrote appreciative statements about Schleiermacher, he allowed that Schleiermacher might be interpreted as a theologian of the Holy Spirit, he emphasized the humanity of God
in contrast to the Wholly Other, he called human beings «covenant - partners of God,»
and he looked for «parables» of
grace and truth in non-Christian religions
and ideologies.
To «speak the
truth in love» (4:15) is not one way (among others) to speak the
truth; speaking is not truthful if it does not also «build up»
and «give
grace.»
We complement each other, we support each other, we share
grace with each other, we speak
truth to each other
and we hold each other accountable,
in a way only we can for each other.
He will not have the impression of belonging to a small, unimportant, submerged group of esoterics or fanatics
and yet of having to maintain that these few alone are
in possession of
truth,
grace and salvation.
Whether that mystery is redolent with llluminati conspiracy or the source of
grace and truth, it nonetheless exists
and will be reflected
in the art associated with the deep traditions of Christianity.
We Christians of the Third Millennium, guided by the Second Vatican Council
and its great champions John Paul
and Benedict, are
graced to be witnessing a return of the papacy
and episcopacy to the model of the age of the Fathers: boldly evangelical, passionately committed to mission,
and with true humility inviting the men
and women of our time to consider the proposal that
truth is to be found
in the person of Jesus Christ.
So the reason I believe
in eternal hell is because I believe some, unfortunately, will
in fact persist
in refusing
grace,
and be lost forever,
and that this sad
truth has been revealed to us.
Disrupting
and truth - telling,
grace - lavishing
and loving is not for the faint of heart,
and I am faint
in my heart, often.
Surely, then, I must continue to affirm the
truth and grace in my own tradition
and continue to stand there, if we are to speak meaningfully with one another;
and yet at the same time I can not, for the same reason, deny the
truth and grace in his or her position.
