I would recommend that you check with diagnostic laboratories or local veterinary medical associations
in the countries nearest to where you will be sailing

in an area with low
heartworm incidence of one to five cases on the map, you should be fine with doing nothing and have your dog tested once a year if you want to be very thorough.
North Texas has one of the highest
incidences of
