in years past, I'm keeping things tasty by reducing my must - make list to nothing but the very essential: cookies, tourtiere, sausage rolls,
holiday candy, and mulled wine.

I'm actually not super into Halloween, but any
holiday that is centered around food /
candy is a win
in my book.

in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, that has become known as the place to see

You could also put a little food coloring
in the melted cacao butter to add a festive touch or sprinkle some
holiday sprinkles or
candies on them before you put them
in the freezer to set up.
Eating Season is what I like to call the 3 - month extravaganza that begins at Halloween when Americans consume even more of their most delicious and comforting
candies, bulldozes through Thanksgiving, when we eat all our feelings about being with family (or our country having elected a nationalist orangutan to the White House around this time last year), continues through the December
holidays, and ends with the Super Bowl when we can no longer actually chew and consume all our favorite foods
in mushy, dip form.
Halloween is right around the corner, but
in light of my recent discoveries about damaging effects of artificial colors and flavors (and petroleum and coal tar)
in candy, I haven't been feeling very excited about a
