This once again illustrates just how high / numerous the hurdles are for investors looking for long term success
in junior resource stocks.
-- At this point — call it (personal) capitulation **, if you like — I've been forced to conclude a value investing perspective is basically irrelevant (& maybe even dangerous) when it comes to investing
in junior resource stocks.
Fortunately, I continue to eschew the entire sector (except for one tiny, but still foolish, value investing experiment
in junior resource stocks!)
But how often can you count on this kind of rationality, especially
in a junior resource stock..?!
But seriously, these Portfolio returns serve up the same question I've asked before: Is it even possible to invest
in junior resource stocks in any kind of successful analytic fashion?
Another very hot sector
in the junior resource space has been marijuana stocks.
So every week, if you go to the site, you can count on exclusive interviews with analysts, CEOs, geologists, and some of the top minds
in the junior resource space.
In the process they have boosted Kumova's wealth considerably on this year's Financial Review Young Rich list and marked him out as one of the most canny opportunists
in the junior resources sector, where paper fortunes often rise and fall on rumours and innuendo.

I should also note a thrust of my Leadership and the Environment keynote is that although I support science, education, innovation, and the approaches to reducing pollution,
resource depletion, overpopulation, global warming, and our other environmental problems, I believe we need leadership

resources, which are really just someone's «best guess» of what happens to be
in the ground at the time.
For his portfolio, he's intrigued by the Couch Potato concept but he's still hanging on to a collection of mutual funds and Canadian

in hopes they will recover from steep losses.
So with this new cash, no debt over-hang, some Oil - India assistance, and a little luck & momentum, I don't believe management are doomed to keep failing (as they do
in most
junior resource co's).
But hey, what do I know — the most likely course of action will probably be the good old
junior resource stock standby: Management will bury their heads
in the (mineral) sand, wait for the share price to totally collapse, and then they'll finally launch a massively dilutive placing...

This is all too familiar
in the industry — much like the
junior resource sector, companies have to constantly scramble to sell & farm - out promising projects to raise much needed cash for their next set of projects.
Alas, no...
In my last write - up, I did tag COP as significantly over-valued, but I also highlighted it as one of the few
junior resource stocks that could boast revenue, profits, and even free cash flow!
Second, fronting a
junior resource stock is all about spinning a good story — that's what the suckers want, some colour
in their drab little lives.
