modern varieties have helped vulnerable farmers by securing their
food supply, and providing them with added income and the opportunity to invest
in their own future.

modern processed diet that the average person eats consists of 67 % of total calories from grains such as corn, soy, and wheat and their derivatives... now THAT»S a shocking revelation

food supply is backwards, and how that affects your waistline!
Points to make: soy protein isolate and other highly processed
modern soy protein products are not safe and have no long history of use
in the
food supply; studies published since 1999 undermine the credibility of — and conclusions drawn — from key studies evaluated by the FDA when it approved the health claim
in 1999; recent studies show that soy can contribute to or cause heart disease, including endothelial damage (especially
in women), heart arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy, an increasingly prevalent condition that affects 1
in 500 Americans.
Increased exposure to goitrogenic mercury, bromides and fluoride compounds, and soy products ubiquitous
in the
food supply, coupled with declining levels of thyroid - supporting nutrients such as selenium and vitamin A
in modern diets, may explain why some people need much higher levels of iodine than those found
in traditional diets.
There are lots of other changes this represents too, such as the presence of chemicals
in our
food supply (pesticides, herbicides, xenoestrogens, etc) that didn't exist
in the ancient diet, as well as the dramatic changes caused by hybridization of many of our
foods, which creates versions of fruits and vegetables bred more for size, sweetness, and appearance as opposed to natural nutrition... this aspect has decreased micronutrient content
in the
modern day
food supply (just look at wild blueberries vs cultivated blueberries as an example of that with wild berries coming
in at more than DOUBLE the antioxidants from ORAC testing).
