i know a lot of people who have regretted starting their kids
in public school because it either makes it harder for them to get used to the idea of
learning from mom or because they form attachments at school and don't want to be
homeschooled.
All this to say, there can be much, much more
in a
homeschooling day than
learning the traditional stuff (reading and numbers)... If you wanted to
learn more there are, of course, tons of blogs out there from people who are
homeschooling in all kinds of different ways...
We'll be trying it this year when we
learn about the respiratory system
in our
homeschool!

homeschool curriculum we
learned about The Ice Age from a Biblical stand point.
I feel like I'm
in a unique position to say this, because I've seen so many aspects of the teaching and
learning spectrum, and I can honestly tell you that most people are way more qualified than they think they are to
homeschool their children.

Homeschooling a child with special needs, whether an exceptional ability
in learning languages or a musical instrument or a
learning disability that requires adaptive instruction, may thrive with one - on - one attention that does not need to take 25 - 30 other children into account.

Homeschool?
Since its our summer holiday and we have finished our
homeschool curriculum, I have taken some time to do some more structured
learning activities with my preschoolers
in the form of lapooks, based on stories that we read together.
In all my years of teaching (both as a classroom teacher and as a
homeschooling mom), I've realized no two children
learn the same.
Even parents who are
homeschooling children or have sent them to private schools are entitled to ancillary services courtesy of their public school district if it's been determined that the children have a
learning disability or other disorder that requires intervention for them to function optimally
in school.
