I puréed sweet potato,
in place of pumpkin purée and used only whole fat buttermilk.
I pureed baked butternut squash
in place of the pumpkin otherwise I followed the recipe as written.
I actually use pureed squash a lot of the time
in place of pumpkin in all of my pumpkin recipes: I think it tastes better than pumpkin and I like the consistency better, it isn't as thick.
You could use sweet potato
in place of pumpkin.
I bet this recipe would also work really well with zucchini (perhaps even shredded - zucchini bread style)
in place of the pumpkin.
1/4 cup pumpkin purée (you can also hack this recipe and use sweet potato
in place of pumpkin — pureed or baked and chilled or frozen)
I made a couple of substitutions though; I used pureed butternut squash
in place of pumpkin and almond butter instead of tahini.
You can use your crock pot butternut squash for anything from butternut squash soup to baked goods (you can even use
it in place of pumpkin).
It's also easy to use another nut or seed
in place of the pumpkin seeds to suit your tastes or allergies.
I use buttercup squash
in place of pumpkin as I always have some cooked on hand.

Butternut squash can be used
in place of the pumpkin.

Just make sure the total quantity adds up to 3 cups total (you could use sunflower seeds
in place of the pumpkin seeds, sesame for flaxseed, peanuts for pecans, etc.).
In this version of the chickpea salad bowl I used acorn squash
in place of the pumpkin.
We also cook the squash in the microwave and serve with butter, and I've heard of it being used
in place of pumpkin in pies.
Brazil nuts, almonds, hazelnuts and pine nuts would be great alternatives to the cashews and walnuts, and sunflower seeds, chia seeds and hemp seeds could be added in addition to or
in place of the pumpkin seeds.
Which is all to say that swapping in another squash
in place of pumpkin for your pumpkin pie is not some kind of autumn sacrilege.

of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and all - spice).

I haven't tried it personally, but I believe some people have had success with
pumpkin puree
in place of applesauce.
The other week i started making this sauce before I realised I was out
of pumpkin... So I used roast eggplant instead (and thyme
in place of sage).
I just want to say that if sometimes you're a little lazy like me, these taste wonderful with a batch

Dietary needs forced me to make a few substitutions, I used Udees GF Oats,

pumpkins by our front door and cooking with
pumpkin and other winter squash.

If it's as absorbent as coconut flour, then you'll need about 1/2 cup
of pumpkin purée
in place of the almond milk.
